Mini-Ball Competition

Start your basketball journey with Wildcats in the Under 8’s Mini-Ball competition – no experience needed!
This is a fun and supportive competition to introduce basketball fundamentals to all players aged 7yrs or younger. The players get to learn to play the game under modified conditions, allowing for in play development to occur from our coaches on court helping their mini ballers.
The modified rules include.
– Four players per team on the court = More touches of the basketball!
– Coaches are allowed on the court, side by side with players to assist and guide players during the game = Better skill development!
– Lowered 8.5′ rims, meaning more scoring opportunities and development of correct shooting techniques.
– Relaxation on in game calls – The whistle will not be blown on every travel, foul or double dribble, this allows for a longer flow of play whilst our mini ballers get used to the fundamentals of the game.
The Under 8’s competition is a term-by-term commitment (e.g. runs for each school term) so there’s a new season starting frequently, perfect to join at any time of the year.
Teams play on Saturday mornings typically at Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, with training once per week after school at Runaway Bay Sports stadium for an hour.
Online registration is easy – register from the comfort of your home or on the go either on a computer or mobile device here (select Gold Coast Wildcats as your team)
